This selection presents a curated body of wax print designs created for Vlisco, a historic Dutch textile house renowned for its wax prints produced for West African markets. Developed over more than a decade of dedicated work in textile design, each print adheres to Vlisco’s distinctive format of 117 by 91.6 centimeters and is produced through a refined wax-resist process combining copper roller wax application with layered flatbed screen printing.
The designs explore rhythm, geometry and bold use of color, often drawing inspiration from architecture, movement and abstract storytelling. Each composition is developed with sensitivity to scale and surface, designed to engage the fabric’s movement and visual rhythm when worn or displayed. The prints are formally registered and finished with Vlisco’s signature selvedge, marking their place within the brand’s long-standing heritage in Dutch wax printing.
